Who we are
Prof. Dr. Bhadra Rupa dasa was awarded a PhD in educational sciences from the University of Geneva, where he has been a member of the Research Team (DAM) for the last 10 years. The United Nations has used his unique contributions in the fields of education, innovation, arts, research and philanthropy to promote the achievement of the 17 Sustainable Goals; his contributions have been also awarded internationally by governments and institutions. Dr. De La Calle is the founder and president of “Wings to Learn-Luis De La Calle Foundation”, established in the USA, Switzerland, Denmark and Peru. His foundation is a member organization of the UN NGO Working Group on Human Rights Education and Learning in Geneva.

I would like to present my master class in music composition and performance called «Kirtan’s Role in Creativity, Education and Spiritual Development». This master class, is a research based on my life experiences of a multifaceted integration of ancient Eastern and modern Western cultures in the fields of music education, composition and singing/performance on different instruments. The United Nations has used the contributions of this master class to promote the achievement of the 17 Sustainable Development goals.

About the master class
For the last thirty-five years, I have been deeply involved in music education, composition and performance by living and studying in South America, Japan, India (based on oral traditions), and Europe under their top most masters. I have successfully established scientific original links between these oral traditions (based on observation, listening, and imitation) and the written traditions of western European music culture.
Through my life’s cross-cultural translation across these cultures, I have developed an innovative and accesible approach to anyone to teaching/learning processes for composing music/lyrics by expressing the student’s emotions based on the poems by the Vaishnava Acaryas, the Maha mantra and Vedic scriptures.
